Myanmar Child Benefits from Medical Care Donated by Nashville Surgeon, TriStar Centennial Medical Center

Nu Chaw Chaw, an 11-year-old from Yangon, Myanmar (formerly called Burma) was born with a club foot. Despite two surgeries, she was still extremely crippled and walked on the side of her foot. She had a very visible limp, regularly suffered from open sores on her foot, and experienced severe pain. A chance video recording that her uncle captured during a visit to his native country of Myanmar in 2011 would forever change this young girl’s life.

Stephen E. Morrow, M.D., F.A.C.S., and Thomas P. Rauth, M.D., M.P.H, board-certified pediatric surgeons, have joined the TriStar Centennial Medical Center medical staff. The surgeons both most recently served at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville.

Karen Good, RN, MSN, NE-BC, has been named director of pediatric services for TriStar Centennial Women’s & Children’s hospital in Nashville, Tenn. She oversees the pediatric medical-surgical unit, PICU, and recently opened Kids Express outpatient services center for Women’s & Children’s hospital.

New Kids Express Opens Jan. 15 at TriStar Centennial Women's & Children's

Kids Express is the first outpatient services center designed just for kids in Nashville and all of Middle Tennessee. Services include IV therapy, respiratory therapy, medical laboratory work, and imaging services. Kids Express was specially designed to provide timely, stress-free outpatient services for children up to age 18.
